Legendary musician Ringo Starr received a heartwarming surprise during his sold-out performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium last night (Jan. 14) when Emmylou Harris invited him to make his Grand Ole Opry debut.

The show was the first of two headlining concerts supporting Starr's new country album, Look Up.
The multi-Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is set to step onto the Opry stage for the first time on Feb. 21, as part of the Opry’s ongoing celebration of its 100th anniversary.
When Harris extended the invitation, Starr jokingly asked, “When is that, July?” Harris replied, “February,” prompting Starr to exclaim, “I’d love to. It’s an honor and a pleasure. Thank you.”
Dan Rogers, Executive Producer of the Grand Ole Opry, expressed his excitement about the announcement:“What an honor that after all the extraordinary music he has made and the incredible history he’s been a part of, Ringo Starr will be making his Opry debut during this, the Opry’s milestone 100th year. It’s going to be a night like no other.”
Starr is set to take the Ryman stage again tonight (Jan. 15) for his second sold-out show. Fans eagerly await his historic Opry debut next month.
