Thomas Rhett is set to release his seventh studio album, About A Woman, on August 23 via The Valory Music Co.
This project showcases the multi-Platinum artist’s signature style while also exploring new creative territories.
Rhett co-wrote 13 of the 14 tracks, working closely with longtime collaborators Dann Huff and Julian Bunetta on most of the production. About A Woman features up-tempo tracks with country foundations, layered with '80s-inspired sounds and energetic beats.
"From top to bottom, I wanted to exude joy and fun with this project—and really just make people move," Rhett explains. "I approached this record with a fearless attitude, focusing on creating really fun music."
The album also reflects Rhett’s devotion to his muse, his wife Lauren. Now at a stage in life where they can enjoy more romantic moments, Rhett expresses his love with renewed enthusiasm throughout the album.
"If you were to ask me what this record is about, the answer would be it’s about one woman, my wife, and it gave me an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ in a lot of different ways," he shares.
The lead single, "Beautiful As You," has already been released. Other notable tracks include the lighthearted "Fool," the relaxed "Overdrive," and the smooth "After All The Bars Are Closed."
Rhett builds on the themes of classics like "Fishin’ In The Dark" in "Back To Blue," and he incorporates Whitney Houston’s "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" in the sing-along heartbreak tune "Don’t Wanna Dance."
Starting today (June 5), fans can pre-order the album, with the next track, "Gone Country," set to release this Friday (June 7).
