On Thursday (6 June), Luke Combs announced the release of his new album, Fathers & Sons, set to drop next Friday, June 14th, just in time for Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16th.
The album includes 12 songs that explore themes of fatherhood, raising boys, and perspectives from both fathers and sons.
As a father himself to two young boys, Tex, who turns two this month, and Beau, born last August, Luke brings a personal touch to this project.
The album cover, shared by Luke on Instagram, features a heartwarming photo of him and his dad fishing with Tex and Beau. It's a fitting image for this deeply personal album that will resonate with his family and millions of fans.
“Excited to announce my new album Fathers & Sons will be out NEXT Friday, June 14,” Luke wrote. “The full track list is on the second slide, but ‘The Man He Sees in Me’ is out now! I can’t wait for y’all to hear the full album next week and hope y’all love this project as much as I do.”
In addition to the album announcement, Luke released a new song today called “The Man He Sees in Me.” This beautiful tune reflects his love for his sons and his desire to be the father they deserve.
Co-written with Josh Phillips, the song paints a vivid picture of Tex, and likely inspired by Beau too, playing Spiderman in his Walmart boots and going fishing in a camo hat.
Luke sings about how Tex sees him as a hero, and how he hopes Tex never grows old enough to realize that he’s not perfect and has never really “scared a monster out of the closet in his room.”
