Shaylen made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry during two shows on Saturday night (Oct. 5), marking a milestone moment in her career.
Shaylen, an artist signed with Nashville's Harbor Records & Entertainment, was introduced by Grand Ole Opry member Chris Young, who had invited her to perform last month.
“It’s my honour to stand up here as a member of the Grand Ole Opry and introduce someone I think is absolutely fantastic,” Young shared with the crowd.
“She has an amazing voice, she’s a great songwriter, and a wonderful person. Y’all make her feel welcome for her very first Grand Ole Opry performance.”
For her debut, Shaylen performed the unreleased track “Country Enough,” a rock-influenced song reflecting her lifelong connection to country music.
Known for writing from personal experience, she was visibly emotional as she expressed how surreal it was to see her journal entries come to life.
“It’s crazy to see journal pieces come to life,” she said, holding back tears before ending her set with her top-streaming independent release, “What If I Don’t.” The song, written during a particularly difficult period after a breakup, resonated deeply with the audience.
Shaylen recently lent her vocals to the duet “Second Time Around” with labelmate Noah Hicks and released her track “To Tell You The Truth.” She is currently working on her debut project with Big Machine Label Group’s imprint.
