Kane Brown will be honoured as this year’s Country Champion at the People’s Choice Country Awards.
The multi-Platinum star recently scored his 11th country radio No. 1 with "I Can Feel It" and released the follow-up to his history-making hit "Miles On It" with Marshmello, all while performing at stadiums across the country on his "In The Air Tour."
Brown first broke onto the scene with his double-Platinum debut album in 2016, becoming the first artist to top all five of Billboard's main country charts simultaneously.
His album dominated the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for 13 weeks, and he delivered two of the most-streamed country songs ever with Diamond-certified “Heaven” and nine-time Platinum “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina.
His 2018 album Experiment also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200, making Brown the first country artist in over two decades to achieve that with a sophomore album.
In addition to his music success, Brown released Mixtape Vol. 1, which earned him an ACM Award nomination for Album of the Year and a Video of the Year win in 2021.
That same year, he was named to the TIME100 list. In 2022, he received the Champion of Youth Award from Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and in 2023, he made history as the first Black artist to headline and sell out Fenway Park.
Brown also received the 2024 Artist Humanitarian Award from the Country Radio Seminar earlier this year.
“Kane Brown has consistently ensured that his legacy reaches beyond music,” says Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events & Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment.
“His commitment to uplifting and empowering younger generations is truly inspiring, and we are excited to honor him with the Country Champion Award.”
Brown joins fellow 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards honoree Miranda Lambert, who will receive the Country Icon Award.
Brown is the second-ever recipient of the Country Champion Award, following last year's honoree, Wynonna Judd.
Hosted by Shania Twain, the awards ceremony will be broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. CT on NBC and Peacock.
