Virginia-native Alana Springsteen recently delivered a captivating Tiny Desk performance, continuing the tradition of featuring talented artists, including the critically acclaimed Brittney Spencer.
Springsteen, a Nashville veteran despite her youth, released her album "Twenty Something" in 2023. The Tennessean praised the album's strong musicianship and songwriting, calling it a "maturing moment that accelerated her trajectory toward country music superstardom."
One standout track, "Ghost in My Guitar," features Chris Stapleton's distinctive guitar work. Springsteen describes the song as "an unimaginably great track with a personality that redefines my career."
“I grew up studying Tiny Desk Concerts," Springsteen said in a press release. "I’d memorize them and dissect the creative decisions and departures from the original versions of the songs.
They were always the most inspiring display of artistry to me. No production, effects, or tracks to hide behind. Just yourself, your band, and your God-given talent.
I think that’s why Tiny Desk is as revered as it is by artists and fans.”
The set included a stripped-down version of "Hot Honey," her recent collaboration with trance kingpin Tiesto. She also premiered "Feels Good," a twisted tale about flirting with death, going to extremes, and self-sabotage.
Springsteen revisited "Ghost in My Guitar," swapping Stapleton's guitar for Gideon Klein's cello. She closed the set with a passionate rendition of "Twenty Something."
"I'm freed by the songs I need to write," Springsteen said. "All I know how to do is write to let the emotions exist that make the world around me feel more comfortable.
I want to live a life beyond words sitting and waiting in a leather-bound diary on my bookshelf to be felt by the world."
