Post Malone is set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 14, 2024, just days before the release of his highly anticipated album "F-1 Trillion" on August 16.
The invitation to perform at the iconic venue came from Brad Paisley, a Grand Ole Opry member since 2001, and Malone's collaborator on the track "Goes Without Saying." In a heartfelt video message, Paisley extended the invite, recognizing Malone's deep respect for country music and his transition into the genre.
"Hey Post! Brad here. So what I'm about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think, knowing you and knowing the respect that you have for country music through this journey you're embarking on now as a hillbilly singer — which is going to be massive and remarkable and amazing for both country music and you.
"Would you like to play the Opry? Come play it with me in August. It's a total invite, and I have a feeling it's going to be the first of many appearances from you. Come experience what it's like to play the show that started it all. You and I can jam together; a lot of your friends will be there, and we're going to have a blast."
Malone's Opry debut will also feature performances by newly-minted Grand Ole Opry member and fellow "F-1 Trillion" collaborator Lainey Wilson, along with Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, and The War & Treaty, among others.
Earlier this year, Malone shared the stage with Paisley at the Stagecoach Festival in April, marking his first-ever country cover set.
Joined by special guests Dwight Yoakam and Sara Evans, Malone performed a 45-minute set on Stagecoach's Mane Stage. Introducing himself by his real name, Austin Richard Post, he expressed his love for the songs he was about to perform.
In a memorable moment at Stagecoach, Paisley joined Malone for a rendition of "I'm Gonna Miss Her," after which Paisley praised Malone's performance, saying he was "made for this." They also performed Vince Gill's 1992 hit "One More Last Chance" together.
