Post Malone performed "I Had Some Help" at CMA Fest in Nashville on Thursday, June 6. He then welcomed Blake Shelton to the stage for a new duet, "Pour Me a Drink", at the opening night at Nissan Stadium.
Shelton joins a list of country stars who have collaborated with Post Malone, including Brad Paisley, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, and Reba McEntire at the ACMs.
Post Malone's two-song set was the penultimate performance at Nissan Stadium, followed by Lynyrd Skynyrd's eight-song set, which included "Free Bird" and extended past midnight. Highlights from CMA Fest will be aired on ABC on June 25.
After their Nissan Stadium performances, both Shelton and Post Malone headed to Spotify House at Ole Red for additional music that continued into the early hours.
According to The Tennessean, Post Malone covered songs by George Strait and Vince Gill and teamed up again with Shelton, while Gwen Stefani, Shelton's wife, was also present.
Craig Morgan kicked off Day 1 at Nissan Stadium with five hit songs and a cover of Gavin DeGraw's "Soldier" from his 2022 album God, Family, Country (Deluxe Edition). Jordan Davis followed with a hit-packed set featuring "Tucson Too Late," "Next Thing You Know," and "Buy Dirt."
CMA Fest co-host Ashley McBryde then took the stage, performing eight songs and bringing out Gretchen Wilson for a duet of "Redneck Woman," a fan favourite from 20 years ago.
After Shaboozey's performance of "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," Thomas Rhett's nine-song concert closed the night. He ended with "Die a Happy Man" and introduced new music, including "Gone Country" and his current single, "Beautiful as You."
Rhett announced his upcoming album, About a Woman, set to be released on August 23, which was inspired by his wife Lauren, who was in the crowd.
Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, and Cody Johnson are among the artists set to perform on the second night of the four-night concert series at Nissan Stadium.
