The 67th Annual Grammy Award nominations were announced this morning (Nov. 8), with top contenders including Beyoncé (11 nominations), Post Malone (7), Sabrina Carpenter (6), Taylor Swift (6), and Shaboozey.
In the country categories, Beyoncé and Post Malone lead with several nominations for their respective albums.
Beyoncé received nods for Best Country Solo Performance (“16 Carriages”), Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus), Best Country Song (“Texas Hold ‘Em”), and Best Country Album (Cowboy Carter). Post Malone also made waves with nominations for Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen), Best Country Song (“I Had Some Help”), and Best Country Album (F-1 Trillion).
Additionally, Beyoncé garnered general field nominations, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, bringing her Grammy nomination total to a record-breaking 99.
Shaboozey scored six nominations, including Best New Artist, the only country representation in this general field category.
His track “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is nominated for Song of the Year, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Remixed Recording, while his collaboration with Beyoncé and Linda Martell, “Spaghettii,” received a nod for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
Kacey Musgraves was recognized in the country categories with nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “The Architect,” while her album Deeper Well received nods for Best Country Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Americana Performance (“Don’t Do Me Good” with Madi Diaz).
Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind earned a nomination for Best Country Album, and Jelly Roll’s “I Am Not Okay” received nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.
Chris Stapleton’s Higher is up for Best Country Album, and his song “It Takes A Woman” was recognized in the Best Country Solo Performance category. Other nominees in Best Country Duo/Group Performance include Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan (“Cowboys Cry Too”), Brothers Osborne (“Break Mine”), and Dan + Shay (“Bigger Houses”).
Nashville’s Jessi Alexander and Jessie Jo Dillon were nominated for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, and Ian Fitchuk for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical.
The soundtrack for Twisters also received nominations for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and Best Song Written for Visual Media (“Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”).
Notably absent from this year’s country nominations were Cody Johnson, a major contender at the CMA Awards, and Megan Moroney. Luke Combs received a single nomination for his contribution to the Twisters soundtrack with “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” while 2024 CMA leader Morgan Wallen was also overlooked, aside from his nominations alongside Post Malone.
