Post Malone's "I Had Some Help," featuring Morgan Wallen, claims the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 2024 Songs of the Summer chart, dominating the weekly rankings for all 14 weeks of the season.
The 20-position Songs of the Summer chart tracks the most popular songs based on cumulative performance on the Billboard Hot 100, which includes streaming, airplay, and sales data, from Memorial Day through Labor Day (covering charts dated June 8 to Sept. 7 this year).
This marks the second consecutive year a country song has topped the season-ending Songs of the Summer chart, following Wallen’s “Last Night” in 2023. Before this, a country track hadn't held the crown since John Denver's "Annie's Song" in 1974 (among songs that reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart).
Wallen also becomes only the second artist in history to secure the seasonal No. 1 spot in consecutive years, and the first to do so in 46 years. Andy Gibb previously achieved this with "I Just Want To Be Your Everything" in 1977 and "Shadow Dancing" in 1978.
Other artists with two summer chart-toppers include Drake ("One Dance" in 2016 and "In My Feelings" in 2018), Katy Perry ("I Kissed a Girl" in 2008 and "California Gurls" in 2010), Jay-Z (featured on Beyoncé’s "Crazy in Love" in 2003 and Rihanna’s "Umbrella" in 2007), Mariah Carey ("Vision of Love" in 1990 and "We Belong Together" in 2005), and Usher ("U Remind Me" in 2001 and "Confessions Part II" in 2004).
Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” ranks at No. 2 on the season-ending Songs of the Summer chart, marking the second consecutive year that country tracks have claimed the top two positions. In 2023, Luke Combs' "Fast Car" secured the runner-up spot.
