Capitol Records Nashville’s Caylee Hammack has released her heartfelt new song, “The Hill.” This deeply personal track, written by Hammack alongside Tenille Townes and Logan Wall, features production by John Osborne of Brothers Osborne, setting the stage for her upcoming project.
Drawing from her rich sonic influences, including Appalachian foothill bluegrass and the Celtic sounds from her time in the Scottish Highlands, Hammack embarks on a new creative journey with a raw and open heart, sharing poignant stories of love and loss.
“‘The Hill’ comes from a place of sad surrender, like waving a white flag with a broken arm,” Hammack explains. “It’s about the battle that feels like the end of a love war, where you’re not ready for it to end.
So you surrender, not caring who was right or wrong, just not wanting to lose the person you were fighting for.”
Hammack has also released a music video for “The Hill,” portraying a love caught in an internal tug-of-war and the pivotal decisions that determine their fate together.
Caylee Hammack has made a significant mark in country music, praised for her creativity, passion, and determination.
The Tennessean highlights her as a standout in the industry. As she prepares for her next creative chapter, Hammack aims to cultivate her most authentic sound, collaborating with John Osborne to honor the stories and characters that have shaped her.
Her debut album, If It Wasn’t For You, showcased her talents as both a writer and producer, earning critical acclaim. Billboard declared, "Hammack deserves to be a star.”
Her collaboration with Chris Stapleton on a new version of her song “Small Town Hypocrite” further solidified her reputation, with NPR and Esquire naming it one of the “Best Songs of 2020.”
Hammack also won the ACM Award for “Music Event Of The Year” with Miranda Lambert for “Fooled Around And Fell In Love.” Recognized as an “Artist To Watch” by The Bobby Bones Show, Rolling Stone, and HITS Magazine, Caylee Hammack continues to captivate audiences with her powerful voice and authentic storytelling.
